A summer visitor arriving in late March and staying with us till September.
Subalpine Warblers are much less choosy regarding their preferred habitat, and can be found pretty well anywhere there's a bit of greenery, unlike its close relative the Dartford Warbler that prefers drier and thicker undergrowth. The moustachial stripe is obvious in both sexes but absent in juveniles which makes them tricky to id correctly.
