Gull-billed Tern (Gelochelidon nilotica)

Gull-billed Terns can regularly be seen inland on the Alentejo Plains during the summer. They are a large Tern, slightly smaller than the Sandwich, and have a stout black bill and solid black head and nape with no crest.
