Pin-tailed Sandgrouse (Pterocles alchata) Cortiçol-de-barriga-branca

Pin-tailed Sandgrouse are a highly difficult species that, though resident, at present is only known to be found with any certainty near the Spanish border in the higher Alentejo. Inhabiting similar habitats and enjoying similar habits and silhouette to the Black-bellied Sandgrouse, it is easily told apart from the latter by its completely white belly and markedly longer tail.
